We’re currently looking for:

The Staff Systems Engineer is responsible for the design-, implementation-, operation- and life-cycle management- strategy of the information technology systems for RingCentral’s corporate environment. This includes coordination with the business and technology teams to plan, conduct and direct the analysis of business problems and leverage technology or automation to help solve such challenges. As a staff engineer, the candidate is expected to contribute heavily in the architectural planning, development, testing and evaluation of applicable IT solutions and take the role of Product Owner for assigned services.

To succeed in this role you must have experience in:

Responsibilities:

Architect, automate, and manage corporate server infrastructure, cloud computing platforms, and enterprise applications
Drive engineering best practices across IT technology teams
Create a Center of Excellence and lead with architecture. Coordinate, plan and execute initiatives that result in highly available, redundant, resilient systems and services.
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, monitor, document, and automate tasks for various systems like Active Directory Servers (Windows Server), Software Deployment Systems and Virtualization.
Participate in overall company Risk Management
Streamline compliance activities such as PCI, SOX, SOC2, CE+, HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, etc.
Directory Service Management (Active Directory, Okta Universal Directory, Azure AD)
Manage DNS, DHCP, KMS, NFS, DFS, SMTP, clustering
Manage Cloud environments (IAAS – AWS, GCP, Azure, Oracle)
Manage IT Managed SaaS applications (Office365, Google Workspaces, Okta, Freshservice, etc)
Design, implement and maintain tools for automation (Scripting, Orchestration tools, etc.)
- SPF, DKIM, DMARC
- Email Spam Control
- Email Security
Develop and execute project plans for assigned projects
Be part of an On-call rotation for systems monitoring and incident management

Required Qualifications:

5+ years in Configuration,Release Management and Automation (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Power-shell) in both Cloud and on-premise environments
Working knowledge creating and using CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or Jenkins
Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, Mongo
Excellent troubleshooting
Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
Virtualization: Installing, Maintaining, Troubleshooting VMWare (Esxi 5/6) Implementations
Expert level knowledge for maintaining various operating system flavours
- Server: Microsoft Server and Linux (various)
- Workstation: Windows, macOSX and Linux(various)
Microsoft applications (AD, Fileserver, DNS, DHCP, NPS, etc)
Backup solutions: Symantec, Backup Exec, Amanda, Windows Backup, Code42, Carbonite
Cloud Applications: Office365, Google App, Box, etc.
Multi-Factor Authentication (Duo, RSA, Google Authenticator, Okta Verify)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or related field of study plus five (5) years of relevant, progressive experience is required. (Will accept single degree or any combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials determined by a qualified evaluation service to be equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor degree in the relevant field of study)
